Well today I had the distinct pleasure of attending the Raytown, MO
BBQ contest. It was a well attended event and sometime next week
There will be a report in this web page on some of the things I saw.
I was very privileged to watch Mike Scrut
chfield preparing some of
his entrees in the contest. The man works like a machine getting
the “Q” ready for the judges. I took some pictures and if they come
out OK you will be impressed. One of the benefits of being there was
I got t
o taste his ribs, chicken, and pork. I am not a judge or
expert but it was double damn good. I can’t cook like that. He is
very careful, he has a digital thermometer that monitors everything.
These contests are judges by taste, tenderness, a
nd appearance. As
I watched Mike prepare his entrees I was very impressed by the care
of the presentation.
