Hi Still Scott, don't overlook the Weber bullet for under $200. You'll see a LOT of these on the KCBS circuit. The folks who have 'em swear by 'em. Many many good things about this cooker...shortcomings are that it won't hold a lot of food. Also consider Jedmaster; pricey but the last smoker you'll ever buy, you'll be able to SLEEP while the food is cooking, and also seen being hauled by a lot of KCBS Champions. Also investigate Hasty Bake, The Good One, Charbroil, Klose, and Oklahoma Joe. These are all cookers that are respected on the circuit.
By the way, I also suffer from getting confused with someone else. Another person with my first name AND my last name wrote an article that was published in the August Bullsheet. I still have to call the KCBS
and make sure they didn't make a mistake. My first name is common enough but my last name is a real doozy unless you're from Georgia or Mississippi where Uncle Lumpkin was the gov'nor and there's a long history of family "doin's". To make a long story s
hort, I can't imagine there's another Elizabeth Lumpkin running around, especially in the barbeque world. But maybe there is one, perish the thought.
