I am a Hondo owner. The Black Diamond has a wood front shelf,
porcelain cooking grids and that flat thing on top of the fire box.
The Hondo does not. If you decide to go for either, read the

matter of fact, read all of the archives before you make any
decision. There is info in there about the Bandera also. I will
say as a matter of fact that there is a 30 degree diference between
the thermometer on a Ho
ndo, and the temp at the cooking grate level.
I do not know if this is true of an OK Joe and a Klouse. If
you think seriously about the Bandera, look at the air inlet. There
is much discussion about how crude it is. Either open, or closed.
No matter what you buy, plan on spending some time and meat to
get to know your cooker. Just like in my younger days, when I had
two or three lady friends at the same time. I sure as heck did not
expect to be able to treat them all the same.
