I wandered off to my first cookoff two and a half years ago. Naive in the extreme, I didn't even realize it was a State Championship. Set up my (you guessed it; there is a point to this story) Weber kettle, bore up well under the stares of older, more ex
perienced, better equipped teams, and scored my first cookoff ribbon. So yes, it CAN be done and done well by anyone who cares to learn their cooker. I only switched to the bullet and later to the Jed in pursuit of more room, not better Q.
