The Three Little Pigs BBQ Team consists of head cook Larry Marks, Wife Joan Marks, son Chris Marks, and family friend Dave Ritter. In 1993 Larry purchased a retirement present for himself which was a trailer mounted Oklahoma Joe cooker and the team started competing on the BBQ contest circuit.

Since 1993 our team has consistently placed in the top 10 teams in the Kansas City BBQ Society overall yearly rankings. We placed 9th. in 1993 and we were 2nd runner-up to the Rookie OF The Tear. In 1994 we were Reserve Grand Champion and in 1995 we were 6th overall.

Larry thinks the team's success comes from recipes he developed which appeal to most peoples taste. We cook with a mild smoky flavor enhanced with marinades and spices. We use a combination of BBQ sauces developed by Joan. Chris and Dave do most of the cooking for ribs, brisket and pork. Larry cooks chicken, turkey and sausage. Joan does the finishing and presentations.

This team is a true "Family Affair." Grandchildren Amber, Amanda and Christopher cook in all contests offering Kids "Q." They have won numerous awards. Christopher attends all contests with the team. The Three Little Pig have won over 100 awards. The following are some of the major dwards.
