I'm going to try to do 16 comps this year. There are some 1st time comps that are close to home, so that will help the mileage thing. One is only 7 miles from my house! I'm helping them organize it, including the name of my comp from '04. I have come up with a few things for them to consider at promotional items for the teams:
1. The team that travels the furthest (by mileage provided by mapquest) get's a $100 fuel rebate prize.
2. There will be one team (rookie) selected at the awards ceremony to have their entry fee refunded. I need to work on that one a little to define "rookie" (and no Mark...it's not you!)
3. One team, drawn from their special entry slip (with receipt proof of the costs of their meats for the competition only) will be refunded the cost of their entry meats.
4. There will be a $50 prize for the DAL Overall team...just so they won't feel so bad about the honor.
5. The Vending team that cooks the comp and vends and turn in the most sales tickets will receive a $100 bonus.
6. An executive chef from Las Vegas will provide breakfast on Sat. morning to the registered team members. (and we aren't talking about plain ole' pancakes either...omlette bar, Bloody Maries and stuff like that)
7. There will be an assigned hostess to each team to make sure that they have everything they need for the comp.
