Sounds like it'll be a winner.
We had a 'New Team' award at the 2007 Southern Illinois Bluegrass and BBQ Festival...winner took home a new Good-One Patio Smoker worth around $800. We determined the winner by the overall top score by a team who had competed in 5 or fewer KCBS contests.
I think there were 16 teams who qualified for the award...more importantly, most of those teams went on to begin competing on a regular basis!
