Take a look at Alton Brown's technique. I cooked one following his temp guide lines except I stopped a little short of 130* ( like it a little more rare ) Used a WSM with water for the first part then poured out the water and opened all vents and cracked the door for the last part. Couldn't get it over 455 that day but it was excellent. Wait until the cooker reaches temp then quickly put on the roast to do the final browning.
