I have the Klose Back Yard Chef. I went with a five foot horizontal chamber. I have really enjoyed using it. It definitely shortens the learning curve. The only thing that I would do differently with this pit would be to have a larger diameter. I went with the pop out baffle and the 1/2" thick fire box. I used it today with an outside temperature of 58 degrees and used a 3" diameter piece of hickory that was about 12" long every fifty minutes to maintain a chamber temperature of 225 degrees. This last Friday it was 36 degrees and raining and it took considerably more wood to maintain the chamber temp. I guess the one thing that really impresses me about this pit is that it really is very easy to maintain your favorite temp. I am also positive that there are a lot of other pits "high end" pits that can do the same. Good luck with your upcoming decision.
