Custom paint and Modifications to Lang

I have a Lang 84. After the recent rains here in California I’ve noticed a few rust spots on the cooker. I’m assuming to fix this I should scrape it off, paint it with high heat paint and re-season it. Correct? Or should I just oil it up and re-season it without the touch up paint?

I’d also like to add some modifications to it like stainless steel shelves, firebricks in the firebox and a custom paint job. Has anyone who owns a Lang made any modifications and/or custom painted theirs? I’d appreciate any feedback or pictures. Feel free to email me. Thanks! BigDaddysQnCrew at earthlink dot net.
