For my own tastes I don't like burnt ends or any meat, pulled, shredded or cubed 'too' heavily sauced. I would douse it with a thinned/watered down sauce so it doesn't overwhelm the meat but still gives it a good moistness and texture. I've been to places where I know it's pretty good bbq but it has so much sauce drenched on, it pretty much ruins the whole works. So yes, lightly toss in sauce and let people add more to their own tastes, don't drown your hard work.
