I'm guessin (and I could be wrong) that someone else in your family has already used your computer to cast a vote, and that the polling software uses your computer IP address to monitor (and prohibit) multiple votes coming from the same computer.
I think Ray has stated in the past that this polling package is not '100 percent' perfect, but that it was his best reasonable shot at something akin to polling here at the bbq forum.
