To answer your question directly: YES.
There's this little thing, unfortunately uncommon in politics, which is called STANDING ON PRINCIPLE. Besides which, and getting back to Q, consider "the rest of the story", the unspoken agenda. It could come back to haunt you if said candidate is big on (alleged) Global Warming; trust me, your smoker will be on the list. It may a good ways down on the list, but trust me, those hideous obnoxious emissions from your smoker are contributing to the demise of the planet (in the perspective of that particular viewpoint). AND, the smoker is an easy target.......
