I'm also a bit confused by the term. In coal locomotives the stoker is the automatic coal feeder, which the auger on the FEC-100 is. In blacksmithing the air bellows blow air on the fire to stoke it, which is done on the FEC by means of a draft fan. On stick burners, I think your just using a poker to stir the fire in new life is "stoking the fire."
Can you explain?
