When the Stoker API actually becomes available there's going to be numerous open source projects out there for it. The stuff I've seen so far uses HTTP gets and POSTS to control it which is fine but I think they're developing their own telnet interface to post to different ports for control that doesn't involve text parsing of HTML.

Once again, I don't have the unit but I think it is based on Linux/Apache firmware so it would be simple to add Axis to the code base which would provide web services to control the device and an extremely simple API to actually control it from networked applications. You could use RAD tools like VS.NET or Eclipse to very quickly develop apps to suit your needs. Trust me, in 1 to 2 years....
