I've learned quite a bit about smoking on this site. I'd give it another chance. No doubt there is plenty of insider chit chat. You've got the option of ignoring that. As far as your original post not getting the attention you'd have liked, don't take it personally. I think some of the regulars get tired of answering the same questions over and over.
One suggestion in response to your original question; trying wrapping your meat in foil for the last hour of the cook. Most bbq meats have plenty of fat and don't need to have moisture introduced. Foiling will create a very tender outcome. I don't cook on an offset, but foiling works great on my wsm.
