The raw chicken, to other raw meat cross-cantamination issue doesn't make sense at all. If all meat starts off raw, then what's the big deal ? If the raw chicken contains salmanella, that is no worse than the possibility of raw pork butt sitting next to it. If you must protect raw pork and red meat from chicken, then what is protecting the raw chicken from itself ?
Now i can understand the reasoning for not storing raw chicken above cooked meat.
I store my chicken in a separate cooler from the other meats, because i don't want to have to argue this stupid issue.
