I have a 84-Twin and have had it for 4 years. Never once had to tune it. However, I keep the Lang ultra-clean inside with very little build-up on the temp guages and smoke stack. Every 3-4 months I remove the temp guages and clean and calibrate them. From time to time, I will layer a sheet of aluminum foil below the lower rack to keep the bottom floor grate clean. Not sure if it's my cooker or the foil, but doing this I find I have very little temp differences end to end. Just my observation.
