The reason I don't stack briquettes up in the charcoal ring and blast'em with the weedburner is that I use the Minion method. That is, I fill the charcoal ring with charcoal, than pour about 20 hot coals on top that I've started in the chimney. Using crumbled newspaper or, as someone said, spraying cooking oil on a few crumpled paper towels, is probably about as fast and easy as any other way. I was just curious, so asked the question.
