pork butt cooking time

I usually cook in Texas but need to cook butts for those occasional KCBS cook offs. My problem - it takes me 15-16 hours to cook a 7lb butt to 190-195. That includes wrapping at 165 and cooking at 225-250 on a WSM. That far exceeds the 1.5 hours per pound that most cooks quote. Any ideas of what's going on?
