I will stop in for lunch at a new BBQ joint if I'm near one at lunchtime. I also look for places to try when traveling. I do this mostly for research purposes though.
Like most folks here, I cook plenty of Q of my own, so on those rare occasions when I go out for dinner I usually choose something I don't make at home, typically ethnic foods.
