I have the following cooks coming:
Texas Rib Rangers, Bill Milroy, Famous Dave's, Dave Van Ruedon, Prairie Oak Smokers, David Covington, Piggy Blues BBQ, Ron Meyer, FFE BBQ, Mike Roberts, The Heat Is On, Mark Born.
We are offering a gas card from Kwik Trip to the first 20 registered cooks, so please contact us asap if you want to take advantage of this offer.
Our purse is growing with some additional sponsorships and our music includes, Cajun, Blues, and Bluegrass. The fairgrounds just put in a huge amount of electrical boxes so we have plenty of power. The site has both grass and asphalt so the rigs should do fine no matter what the weather. We are also having trohies and cash for peoople's choice in chili on Friday and additional categories such as sauce, dessert and showmanship.
We have 10 certified judges so far and will welcome more. I took the cooking class a couple weeks ago, just so I can understand what you cooks go through and appreciate what you are doing. I thought if I understood that part of the event, I might be more helpful to the teams that attend. I will also take the judging class in a couple of weeks so I understand the event from that standpoint as well.
This is my first time coordinating a contest and I am putting everything I have into it. I surely appreciate the enthusiasm that I have seen thus far and the friendliness of the cooks and judges I have met in the class. I am looking forward to meeting some of you on the circut prior to our event. Hopefully more of you will come a support this quality event as well.
