Not sure if I read your post right but they charge more for opened case products. Always have at the Sam's I have been to.
Got a local guy here and 3 weeks ago he was selling them to me at $.89 a pound. Ordered 3 cases yesterday and now they are at $1.17 a pound.
He said all pork prices went up and said they usually do this time of year but they will most likely come back down later in the year.
