You're right about the variables. I do seem to recall seeing a figure of 4-6 degrees of temperature loss per hour, assuming the carrier was full. Of course, it would depend on what the carrier was filled with, but I could swear I saw this figure in some Cambro literature somewhere, but don't remember where.

At any rate, they work great.
