Well, you win. We didn't do Cabela's last year.
We only cook in five or six sanctioned contests a year, have since '94, and believe it or not, we have a couple dust collectors ourselves, plus a few other accolades we're proud of. Now, I don't know what it is that makes us able to answer a barbecue question without telling everyone who would answer differently that they're wrong - humility, common courtesy, or just experience - but we're able to do that. Fortunately, I think there are more people in the KCBS who communicate like that than there are people who have to declare that if you're not doing it the way they do it, you're doing it wrong. "Here's how I do it - others do it differently and win," helps accomplish the mission better, I believe. Even a joke about it like Hoot's last week is more constructive than specifically slamming someone, in my opinion. But I didn't even cook at Cabela's last year, let alone win pork.
