I (like Salmon) have had this discussion a few times with Rich. Plain and simple, Richard does not believe that a pork entry has to be sauced to win...even in Kansas City. Then he backed it up by winning...at an invitational event...in Kansas City.
Two things jumped out at me here. First, that you accused Richard of "pounding his chest." You may be talking about one the most humble, unassuming people that I have ever met (Rich and I both come from a background in radio...and being humble and unassuming in radio is very rare).
Second, that you thought Rich was specifically singling you out is a bit pretentious.
