I'm serious about apologizing to Richard. To me, his response and its timing read like a direct slam on my answer to BOS. I was mistaken. Sorry. I thought my answer to BOS was about as positive and constructive as it gets, for whatever that's worth.
And I'd like to think my story about the misconceptions the kid at the backyard event explains why statements proclaiming one technique is the only correct technique make me mad. Sorry, but I'm tired of it. Egos aren't anything new in this game, but it seems to me that we have more people talking about how great their barbecue is than we have talking about how to make great barbecue.
