A case of ribs at Sam's usually has 3, 3 packs it and by buying a case you'll get the price cut. Myself, I'd make the whole thing and then you get some leftovers in the freezer for lunches or guests can take some doggie bags home. I know at my house they always want to take home a snack. As far as per person....with sides, a 1/2 rack fills me up plenty, then I pick at a couple more bones when the pain goes away ;-)
