My bro-in-law is a state trooper and says the only thing that does not need a plate is a portable/trailered welder. Though when I called the DMV locally to find out about getting a tag, they didn't know how much to charge me, or what kind of tag to give me for my Good-One Chuckwagon.

The bro-in-law says that a vast majority of the troopers out there probably wouldn't mess with you over the tag, unless you're breaking some other law too. I have been pulling mine (without a tag) for nearly a year now. So far so good. The longest trip has been to Wilmette, IL and back (around 500 miles total).

Here's to hoping my luck holds out!

Carpe 'Que,
Jim Rhino
