Lighting the chimnet

I've seen various ways discussed about how to light a charcoal chimney. I just set the chimney directly on the base for my Turkey frier, it fits perfectly. I crank the gas up on high, and in about a minute the chimney is heating up. This is better than paper, I think. It's faster, and you don't have all the ashes to deal with. Do any of you use this method?
