I have never cooked on a med BGE but I can do 2 butts and a flat on my large. My guess is that 2 butts would touch and extend the cook time. They might even touch the dome which will burn them but you know that. IMO I would add $200 to the asking price and buy a new large. I am always looking for ways to get more meat in the large.Dr. BBQ was looking at me pretty funny at the Westmont IL. contest when he walked by and I was trying to get 2 butts and 2 flats in one large BGE. Dr. just so you know I was not able to make them fit so I cooked 2 butts and 1 flat in 1 egg and 1 flat in the other.
