I held my dad today with my mom my sister my aunts and uncles as he drew his final breath. He went in peace and sourounded by love.
Gene Chism was 76, a former star football player from Port St. Joe Florida and West Point cadet. After the Army he met Mrs. Lil and we had just celebrated their 51 anniversary in July. Daddy was a paper maker and worked at different mills throughout the South until retirement in 1999. He and mom lived in Mobile with the rest of the family.
I could go on forevever but I want to say that he loved the BBQ community. For those of you he knew he asked about you every cook off.
