You know if we would step back and take a look at all the threads on here it is not much different than a backyard cook or a competition. Every single one of us on here started out cooking for ourselves and experimenting with different recipes in our backyards. As each person learned more and more they started cooking for friends and family. I can honestly say that I've only cooked in one competition, but there was a lot more being talked about than just barbecue. The same goes for when I still cook for friends and family. We don't just talk about barbecue, we talk about a lot of things. I know this a barbecue forum, and some of things discussed on here are not always about cooking barbecue directly. I can not say that I know anybody on here personally, but as I continue to compete I hope that I get the chance to meet some of you. I personally enjoy reading and seeing what others in the barbecue community is doing. I think we all should remember that great barbecue goes a lot better with good friends.
