If you simply round up... the what would be a 7.5, or 7.6, or 7.9 all become an 8 which they are clearly not. And a 7.4 would be a whole point away from a 7.5.

We need a system to differentiate nuances in taste. If you don't appreciate nuances in taste, stop judging and cooking BBQ.

Not everything is black and white. There are more than 8 levels of taste/tenderness/appearance in BBQ.
