I have cooked on two different electric smokers, and found the cheaper of the two cooked better. I did keep the better of the two and us it as a food warmer.
I would agree, that if he is a true die hard stick burner guy, he would be alot better off with a pellet cooker. Nothing but wood bing used and it's set it and forget it.
