There are pluses both ways. You do not have to cut or keep up with PVC with the Adjustables, but they are a pain to open and close as the spring button gets caught at every whole. These are more sturdy as well.
The PVC trick is easy to assemble but you have to keep up with them. Every table is a little different so I would hold the table up where you want and measure to the ground for the right size.
I use both.
