I've got one of those I keep in the kitchen for deli meats I bring home to slice and save.
My blade isn't big enough to completely slice a large flat. For jobs like that I picked up a Hobart at auction, and it stays in the garage wrapped up so that there is minimal prep when I have to haul it into the kitchen.
