As an organizer, most of the contests I work with have lost major financial support from corporate sponsors that make these events possible. Feedback from other organizers confirms this is a nationwide phenomenon.

As a cook team manager, our team sponsors are looking very closely at their budgets, seeking maximum return for their investments. We have to show a solid ROI to keep them on board.

Personally as a cook and judge I've *increased* the number of shows I will travel to this season, but of course this schedule is dependent upon maintaining sufficient personal income, which is always uncertain since I'm a small business owner.
