There are a lot of thing judges aren't supposed to do but being Human they do anyway.

The way I would approach it is as follows, next time I would not slice my brisket a half inch thick.

Right or wrong, I want to hear what the judges are saying even if it is something out of the norm.

That said, judges caught giving average product a 3 should be canned. 3 is basically inedible. A 5 totally proves their point without going to a 3.

In fact any judge caught giving a 3(in taste or texture) to all but inedible Q should have to cook a contest before being reinstated.
