You are correct, Juggy. The "start at 6" instruction has died. At every judges' meeting before every contest, the rep plays the KCBS Judges CD that thoroughly and carefully explains the current scoring system. It pains me to say it, but it's my guess that many/most judges sit quietly while the CD is played and totally "tune it out" and never really hear or think about much of what's being said. The only time I really certain of being heard is when I emphasize how to use the new comment card system. I wish it were otherwise. I'd like to change it but it's a bigger problem than me.
