Some of these comments are so ludicrous it's silly...
The purpose of this show is to sell products for its advertisers. It is not to promote BBQ or KCBS. Everyone comments how bad this is for BBQ or the KCBS or attracting new folks to competition. It ain't got nothin' to do with that.
If KCBS wants to attract folks to competitions, then they should put on their own show. I suggest that they use some of the folks here who so adamantly hate the BBQ Pitmasters pgm and its format. I predict one show then cancelled.
As for the comment about the "sacred sport of BBQ", what kind of dope are you smokin'? I like BBQ as much as the next person, but to call it "sacred" is just plain silly... about as silly as that KCBS BBQ Oath that the judges have to repeat before comps: "...truth, justice, and the American way of life..." Straight out of the 1950's Superman TV show.
Please... get a grip and put things in perspective people.
