Say I'm selling sauce and rub to restaurants. Because of the economy, many restaurants have gone under, many are right on the edge. But I'm going to call those restaurants and say, "Hey, we're raising our prices. It's the first time in five years we've raised prices, so it's OK. Our people deserve it." Does that seem smart to anyone? Apparently that's what the KCBS did, raising sanctioning fees. I don't care if it's only $50. For small contests, that fifty bucks is going to the proverbial straw.
