I am sure that she does a great job with what she has to work with, but it seems like this is a little low-tech for right now.
So did all of the figuring for Team of the year happen by hand? Or do they have all of the scores already tabulated and she just reads it off?
I can't imagine that they tried to calculate everyone by hand, so did they just pick the top teams that they figured would be in the top 50 or so and calculate them and then rank them? It seems like this doesn't really lend any transparency to the team of the year points and especially if they want to give out a cash prize based on it.
Why not just let Paul do it? He seems to be quite good at running the KCBS rankings as it is. He is getting the results directly from KCBS before they get posted to the website now anyway, right?
I am guessing that they still dont have team id number that is standard and that he is just using some string recognition to match teams.
What was the point of creating the tons of extra work to give every team that competes points when you arent going to publish those points? For a team that doesn't cook a ton of contests it would be nice to know who finished around you. Can you call Ms. Dawn and ask for your certificate and then the teams above and below you?
Hey I know it is a lot of work to put together the results and come up with the rankings. The few folks that do take my stuff seriously would never take it seriously if I was asking people to email me and I would mail them back a certificate with their rank.
