Brisket Question

Ok, I'm wanting to try and perfect my brisket recipe...my main issue is w/ cost. I'd like to try a few different things, but the brisket are pretty expensive. Anyone have any ideas on how I could try some different techniques, rubs, etc w/o spending a bundle on 5-10 briskets?
