Everyone needs to read the proposed rule changes very carefully. Evidently there is a move to change the chicken category drastically because 3/4 of the people attending the rules meeting thinks that both white and dark meat should be in the box. It's unclear if this rule change is being proposed. It is on the agenda to be discussed, but does not show up in the actual rule changes being proposed. Technically, I don't think it could be changed because it is only up for discussion and not a proposed rule change, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they won't change it. The board meeting is tomorrow night, so email, call, and voice your opinion.
I'm assuming that the majority of cooks won't like this change, but I could be wrong.
The small attendance at the rules meeting has lots of influence on rule changes.
For anyone who couldn't attend the rules meeting this year, does that mean we don't have any say in any proposed changes? The technology exist to put up a poll for members only on the KCBS website to get a better sampling of what the members want. The membership should be polled about such drastic rule changes!
