Hey, I am heading to Albuq right now to see family and go to bbq comp as spectator. Wish we were competing but maybe next year.
My husband and I are from NM and now live in CO. If you want the best Mexican Food in Albuq., you have to go to El Modelo. They have been around for around 80 years and known to have the best authentic Mexican food in town. They are carry-out and have patios. Some of favorites are Carne Adovada, stuffed sopapilla and tamales (chicken and pork). You will know you are in an authentic Mexican Food Restaurant when you walk in the door. They are busy all the time and worth waiting in line.
Ray, Dr. BBQ, loves their green chile chicken burrito.
