One more thing to consider. There are 2 membranes in the back of the ribs, and if you went through both cleaning them you would have lost all the bones during cooking. Go three or four ribs from the end and wiggle a butter knife under the top membrane, then use a paper towel to get only the top one off. They can still be fall off the bone ribs, and they will slice better.
