I'd like the idea of having SAMS become a sponsor of any contest that wants sponsorship. Advertising for them, cash for the event to help defer the costs. Maybe more prize money down the road. But right now TOY and big contests seem to be reaping this windfall.

Looks like you have some good points. I think power is important but not an outlet at every site. A team can bring 200' of contractor grade extension cords. Water - I just don't see it needed onsite and I think anybody that hooks up to water needs food grade hoses - no exceptions. I'd support an additional fee for space if both water and power are supplied to the site and I don't mean them running an extension cord. Cooks can pay for some stuff it they want it.

As to keeping the public away I am totally against this. We need the public to see us, talk about us and BBQ and see sponsor banners even if right now my only one is Slabs and I don't get a break on rubs other than quantity buying.

I'd love to see standard turn in boxes but believe it or not there are still some areas without a SAMS club. So not mandatory but strongly recommended.

I agreeReps need to do their job and ensure that organizers explain how to handle grease and ash. Now grey water should be the responsibility of each team and it should not be dumped onsite. For vendors that's usually mandatory so why not for cook teams.
