My wife and I are adopting 2 children from Ukraine ages 6-11, so we have not been able to cook any contests this year to save every penny- adoption is expensive $36,000- raised $15,500 so far. We went and visited our bbq friends at the Lawrenceburg TN contest last Friday. We had a very stressful week meeting deadlines since our adoption was moved up 2 months with short notice.
We shared with Billy of Do Rag Q our adoption journey, not expecting anything but possibly if he had old cell phones that we recycle for money etc. We have done well on fund raising but with this new development we are stretched.
Billy then shared our story with the following: Joe and Voncile of Smokey Mountain Smokers, Jeff of Grog N Hog, and KCBS rep Ron Harwell donated his expense check along with Do Rag Q together they donated $1075 towards our adoption. THEY ALL DESERVE a Smoky Angel!!! They didn't do it to get recognition, but we want the BBQ community to know how much they touched our hearts!
We are so touched by the support of our BBQ friends both in money and prayers and appreciate your support to help orphans in the Ukraine that have little or no future.
