It certainly wasn't the same as last year and more of another Iron Chef format. Congrats to Moe for cooking the way he does it! Great job man!
As far as the new format, the only reason I can come up with for this change is how much it probably cost TLC to do last years series, all the cameras and all the travel expenses. Then, the ratings were not exactly what they were expecting either. The 2010 version of Pitmasters probably cost them less than 1/4th of what the 2009 show did. Just an uneducated guess on my part. It's a television show that is just like the rest of us, it has a budget and we have to live with it. Maybe next year they will go back to real comps and no rattle snakes or cole slaw. To all the comp teams out there, cook your best every weekend and cherish the calls you get. You never know when you might be on candid bbq! :)
